In support of UBC’s amazing athletes, we have donated toothbrushes and toothpaste for them to give out to children in El Salvador.
It all started with “To whom it may concern, My name is Nate Fleming and I am a varsity hockey player at UBC”. This was the beginning of a heart warming story of how a group of 10 UBC Thunderbirds would be travelling to El Salvador to build houses for Habitat for Humanity. The email went on to say that every year the group tries to bring as much clothing, sporting goods, etc with them to donate to the children there and that another very popular and needed item is toothbrushes.
Wanting to celebrate this great opportunity to help both these volunteers and the children of El Salvador, we donated over a hundred dental kits including a toothbrush and toothpaste.
